Shannon & Trajano

Shannon Ring is an Instructor, Dancer and Choreographer from New Zealand. She has trained in multiple styles of dance in her youth (American Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary), later specializing in Latin and Brazilian Dances. She has competed gaining titles in Salsa, Open Latin and also Chacha (dancesport). Her performing and successfully competing Nationally and Internationally in Salsa teams, led her to discover Brazilian dances: Zouk, Samba de Gafiera and Samba no Pe, and has been dancing Zouk for 6+ years together now with her dance partner, Trajano, ever since. She is passionate about teaching, mentoring and inspiring others to grow in their dance, and has a strong focus when it comes to others dance technique. She likes to express her own artistic work with Trajano, using their own brand, ZOUKART, with their storytelling choreographies with Zouk. She continues each year to pursue training overseas from Brazilian masters, and locally through other dances forms in the pursuit of bettering her dance.

Trajano Leydet was born in Uruguay, grew up in Argentina and lives in New Zealand. He is an Instructor, Dancer and Choreographer who has has trained in multiple styles of acting/dance (Martial Arts, Capoiera, Salsa), later specializing in Brazilian Dances. At a young age he trained in gymnastics, traditional martial arts and acting but it was not until 2003/4 that he started taking dance classes starting with Latin ballroom (2 years), then came cuban salsa, whilst immersed in capoeira contemporanea. Dancing Zouk for 6 years together now with his dance partner, Shannon, he likes to express his artistic work through their choreographies with Zouk, in latter years Samba de Gafieira and also in his own contemporary based solos. Their own brand, ZOUKART, allows him to follow their passion teaching classes, workshops, taking privates and choreographing their performances. He continues to pursue training locally and overseas from top masters in many forms of dance - believing that you can never stop learning.
